What? We owe how much?

I was going to put this as part of my info, and the bright idea struck me - why not make a blog post about it?

So... for some reading pleasure: we have a TON of student loan debt. And interestingly enough, neither of us are currently working in our degree fields. Or even anything REMOTELY related! Hubby's degree is Business Administration, w/ an emphasis in Finance, and a minor in Mathematical Sciences (yeah, seriously - he's a smarty). I have a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications (which means marketing, public relations, advertising, all rolled together in one). He's doing construction. I'm in payroll. Hrm... Weird how that works out? WHY did we spend all that time and money, to not use it? HE spent it to play football. Plain and simple. If he could've gone to college for 10 years playing football, he would have. He'd just now be graduating. I... well, I just didn't have any other options. And it's worked out great - I really like my job, my coworkers. I firmly believe, "It always works out in the end."

Another interesting fact, about our only two real sources of debt - well besides our cars, I guess those count too, huh? OK, so our two BIG debts - our house, and our student loans. They're almost the same amount. YIKES!! Of course, when we signed our lives away for the next 30 years of life (when we closed on the house), they told me NOT to look at that one piece of paper that tells you how much you'll actually pay for your house in the end... but of course, I looked. And it's astronomically higher... but at the rate we're paying our student loans, all the interest might add up to be that much... when our grandchildren pay them off. SHEESH.

YIPPEE for me - a blog post! Hopefully others will not be as silly/boring as this. =)

~XOXO~

We totally feel your pain on the student loan debt. Except ours IS about exactly the same amount as our our home loan. YIKES!!!!! We will be paying student loans for the rest of life :(
